Day on the Mountain
We all seek an escape from the monotony of life, from the constant bombardment of advertisements, from the never-ending news-cycle, and the stresses of everyday life. For many in the Pacific Northwest the arrival of winter means long rainy days and gloom. But to the few who dare venture out, Winter will take you to the heavens. It’s a glorious day when the first snow falls and the mountain once more welcomes back adventurers of all sorts. Some choose to chase waterfalls, others to snuggle the winter away, not knowing a whole world awaits less than 2 hours from home.
To me, the coming of Winter signifies smiles, pow days and fresh tracks. Some wake up bright and early in search of the perfect sunrise others go in search of untouched snow trails. I choose to spend my weekends on the slopes doing both. The feeling of flying down fresh powder snow can only be compared to getting that one perfect shot!
